On May 7, Belmont High School had a picture-perfect moment with Miyawaki Forest Action Belmont and Biodiversity for a Livable Climate! Students and community members came together on the southwest quadrangle of BHS to create a live outline of what will soon be the footprint of Belmont’s very own “Miracle” Forest —a mini forest designed to thrive right on campus!
The future forest will:
- Become an outdoor classroom for science, language, and visual arts
- Teach students about biodiversity and natural ecosystems
- Build stronger connections within Belmont schools and the wider community
- Improve stormwater absorption on campus
- Empower students to be environmental changemakers
This is just the beginning—stay tuned for the next steps as the forest takes root!
