
English Language Arts and Reading: K-3 Literacy Curriculum Review
Background & Mission
The BPS Literacy Curriculum Council (LCC) was established in the Fall of 2024 with the mission of curating specific recommendations for shifts in our K-3 Literacy programming that meet the needs of all our students. The LCC is comprised of K-4 classroom teachers; ELE teachers, reading specialists, special educators at the K-3 level; and administrators representing grades K-12.

Goals
The LCC goals for the 2024-2025 school year are to:
Develop a vision for effective K-3 literacy instruction in BPS
Audit our current curriculum and instructional practices
Examine research and curricula to inform recommendations for advancing our literacy instructional practices
