We are thrilled to begin another school year, and it has been heartening to see such a smooth and joyful opening across our schools. The first days of school were filled with excitement as students stepped into new classrooms, met their teachers, and reconnected with friends. This energy and enthusiasm remind us of the deep purpose of our work—creating vibrant learning communities where every child can thrive.

This year, our multi-year Strategic Plan continues to guide us. It serves as both our roadmap and our call to action for ongoing improvement and innovation. The plan highlights key areas:
→Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS)
→Vision of a Graduate (VOG)
→Multiple Pathways to Graduation
→Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and Mental Health
→Family Communication

Together, these initiatives form the foundation for supporting all learners, regardless of their background, learning profile, or demographic. This approach is central to our mission of ensuring that every student has the opportunity to succeed and to feel a strong sense of belonging in our schools.

A key thread running through our Strategic Plan is equity—a commitment that goes beyond words. It  guides the decisions we make each day in our classrooms, schools, and district. We are steadfast in our dedication to providing every student with equitable access to rigorous, meaningful learning opportunities. This means intentionally examining our systems, practices, and resources to identify and remove barriers to success, while also putting supports in place that allow each student to flourish.

Our curriculum is designed to reflect and respond to the diverse strengths, interests, and lived experiences of our students. This year, we continue the rollout of Illustrative Math and introduce a new literacy curriculum, Fishtank, which complements our phonics-based Fundations program. These high-quality curriculum resources equip our educators to deliver rigorous instruction while affirming students’ identities and reflecting a wide range of perspectives. In doing so, we create classrooms where all students feel seen, feel valued, and engage deeply with challenging content.

We also recognize that diversity itself is a powerful asset to our learning environments. The varied experiences, languages, cultures, and viewpoints that our students bring enrich the classroom and help develop the skills they need to thrive in a diverse, interconnected world. That’s why inclusivity and belonging are so important. We are intentional about creating welcoming spaces, fostering strong relationships between students and staff, and cultivating school cultures where students feel safe, respected, and empowered to contribute. When every student feels they belong, they are more likely to engage, take intellectual risks, and realize their full potential.

Students’ academic success is deeply connected to their sense of connection—to their school, their peers, and their teachers. When students feel valued and supported, they are not only more likely to excel academically but also to grow as thoughtful, compassionate citizens. Our educators are essential to fostering belonging as they work every day to care for, teach, and support all of our students. Their dedication allows our students to flourish both academically and socially.

Thank you to our families for your continued partnership, and to our staff for your unwavering commitment to our students. Together, we can make this school year a meaningful and successful one for every student.
