Daily Operating Expectations

Typical Day Schedule

Arrival

Students must remain outside while waiting for the morning bell.  

Students will report to their morning waiting area and at the corresponding class/team mark on the hard top. See map in appendix, instructions to families.

  • Grade 4: Plaza Rear (Basketball Courts)

  • Grade 5: Plaza Forward (Four-Square Courts)

  • Grade 6: Tennis Courts

Students who would like breakfast may go to the cafeteria to eat breakfast between 7:30-7:45. They must leave after breakfast is consumed. Breakfast may only be consumed in the cafeteria. No food may be consumed outside. 


Students will line up upon hearing the signal at 7:43 am. Students will proceed by class/team into the building using their assigned stairwell.

Grade 4 - Autumn

Grade 5-Winter

Grade 6-Summer

The Spring, (Spiral) Staircase may not be used by students unless they are accompanied by a teacher.

In the Event of Inclement Weather:

4th Grade reports to the Small Gym

5th Grade reports to the Cafeteria

6 th Grade reports to the Auditorium

Bell Schedule

  • 7:43 am Bell to line up

  • 7:45 am Students enter classrooms to begin their day

  • 7:55 am Morning Meeting/Advisory

  • 8:12 am Warning tone to signal 1 minute until announcements

  • 8:13 am Whole school announcements/pledge (brief 2-3 min)

  • 8:15 - 2:15 Classes/Academic Program

  • 2:20 pm Preparation for Dismissal*

*1:15 p.m.: School dismissal on Wednesdays

*11:00 a.m.: Early Release days 

DISMISSAL: The teacher is responsible for having his/her class organized for dismissal each day.  No child may have a transportation change unless a written note is received from the parent or the parent physically comes to the building. 

Afternoon dismissal will occur at intervals based on mode of transport. It is the responsibility of the homeroom or team teacher to know how each child gets home.

2:25 pm    Bus Riders (including METCO) dismissed

2:27 pm    Walkers & Bikers

2:30 pm    BASEC & car rider dismissal
