This Week
A couple of reminders for this week: Tuesday, November 11, is Veterans Day, so there will be no school. On Wednesday, November 12, we will follow a Tuesday schedule, with a dismissal time of 11:40, and it will be a conference day.
Home- School Communication
This year, families are encouraged to contact teachers through TalkingPoints. The easiest way to view and reply to messages is by using the TalkingPoints app, which you can download from the links provided on this page (https://intercom.help/talkingpoints/en/articles/10074099-download-the-families-app).
If you don't have the app, teachers’ messages will come as regular SMS texts. A list of staff can be found HERE (https://www.belmont.k12.ma.us/o/wbes/staff?filter_ids=423934) on our website. Belmont Public School staff email addresses follow the format: first initial + last name @belmontschools.net (http://belmontschools.net/). If you have questions, please contact the Butler main office at (617) 993-5550.
Important Reminder: All changes to dismissal plans must be communicated through the main office at (617) 993-5550 not via TalkingPoints or email.
Parking/ Parking Lot
During school hours (7:00-3:00), the parking lot is reserved exclusively for school staff. Parents, guardians, and other non-school employees should not park in the school lot during these hours, nor should they pull into it, especially during pick-up and drop-off times. Residents are allowed to park in the school lot overnight; however, all cars must be removed by 7:00 am to allow space for staff vehicles. When uncertain, please check the posted signs. The Belmont Police Department enforces neighborhood parking regulations, and parents have been surprised in the past to find a ticket on their windshield. We understand parking can be challenging, especially as our school population increases; nevertheless, town parking regulations still apply.
The Butler Learning Garden
Green Team: Put the Garden to Bed - Friday, November 14th, 4:00-5:00.
The Butler Learning Garden is at the end of its growing season. Let's prepare the garden so that when spring arrives, everything will be ready for the flowers to bloom!
Please join us in tidying the garden, adding compost, planting bulbs, and preparing the garden for winter weather. If you’re interested, please contact Kara: thesaberwoods@gmail.com
