As Butler’s School Guidance Counselor, I support the social, emotional, and behavioral well-being of all students. School counseling is part of general education, which means every student has access to these services. Support may include individual counseling, small group sessions such as lunch bunch, and whole-class social-emotional learning (SEL) lessons. Students might join lunch bunch groups to build peer connections, strengthen communication skills, or develop problem-solving strategies. Classroom lessons often focus on SEL topics like managing emotions, building coping skills, making friends, practicing empathy, and more. In addition to working directly with students, I collaborate regularly with parents and teachers to discuss any concerns they may have. These conversations may include sharing resources, brainstorming strategies for home or school, or exploring whether counseling support would be helpful. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any concerns about your child, I’m here to help!
