Burbank had a wonderful "First Friday" coffee chat with Principal Williams this morning. We chatted about attendance, METCO, 3rd Grade Chromebooks, and the new math curriculum. Thank you to those who could join us, and big thank you to Butternut Bakehouse who generously donated 3 boxes of Thursday's pastries for our coffee chat and Burbank staff! This morning, Burbank students gathered for an assembly where Principal Williams thanked them for contributing to Belmont families in need through the Food Pantry Drive. Afterward, students participated in the school’s 2nd Annual Turkey Trot!
At Burbank's PTA meeting this morning, parents met with Superintendent Dr. Jill Geiser to discuss the district's 2024-2027 Strategic Plan. Parents engaged in meaningful conversation, asking thoughtful questions about the curriculum and the district's goals. In the coming weeks, Supt. Geiser will continue attending PTA /O meetings to share more details of the Strategic Plan and connect directly with families. These meetings are a valuable opportunity to hear first-hand about the district's vision and to join the conversation shaping the future of our schools.

At Burbank Elementary’s Veterans Day Assembly, students paid tribute to local veterans with poems and patriotic songs. Veterans were welcomed with enthusiastic applause and sincere appreciation from students, teachers, and parents. Led by music teacher Ms. Sinclair, the 3rd grade students performed the military medley, and as each branch’s anthem played, veterans from that service stood proudly for a moment of recognition and respect.
Thank you for coming out to our PTA 1st-3rd Grade Play dates today! We hope you had fun and wish everyone a wonderful first day of school tomorrow. Remember to join us for a kindergarten playdate tomorrow at 9:30 after the 9am open house!
