Ms. Lisa Williams is honored to serve as the Principal of Burbank Elementary School. Now entering her second year in the role, she reflects on her first year with gratitude and joy: a year filled with learning, collaboration, and shared efforts to make Burbank a warm, inclusive, and fun place to be. Ms. Williams believes deeply in building a school culture where students feel safe, cared for, and inspired to do their best. Her leadership is grounded in relationships with students, staff, and families, and she values creating opportunities for all voices to be heard and for everyone to contribute meaningfully to the life of the school.
Ms. Williams brings over 30 years of experience in public education to Burbank, including 28 years as a classroom teacher. She began her career in Lexington, Massachusetts, where she taught every elementary grade from kindergarten through fifth grade. She later served as an assistant principal in both Lexington and Sudbury before becoming principal at Burbank. Her time in the classroom and in school leadership has given her a deep appreciation for the developmental needs of children and the importance of engaging, joyful learning experiences. She especially loves being in classrooms joining in on lessons, observing student creativity, and celebrating growth.
A lifelong Massachusetts resident, Ms. Williams lives in Sudbury with her family and enjoys spending time with her new grandson. In her free time, she loves exploring local favorites such as the Mass Audubon Wildlife Sanctuary, Franklin Park, Rancatore’s Ice Cream, and the Boston Marathon finish line on Boylston Street, which she has proudly crossed a few times!
At Burbank, Ms. Williams works closely with the school’s talented staff and incredibly supportive PTA to foster a strong, connected school community. Together, they organize joyful monthly school events, creating opportunities for students, staff, and families to come together in celebration and learning. Whether you are a returning family or new to the school, Ms. Williams looks forward to getting to know you (or getting to know you even better!) and working together to make this school year full of meaningful learning and joyful memories.
