Principal Hiring Process

Dear Winn Brook Parents/Guardians,

Thank you for those of you who were able to attend the two Principal finalist interviews with Winn Brook parents/guardians on Wednesday, 5/17/2023 @ 6:00pm in the Cafeteria.  Thanks, also, to all of the parents/guardians who provided feedback on each candidate for Superintendent Phelan to consider.  As promised, all feedback was collected, reviewed, and categorized into a summary document that was shared with both Superintendent Phelan and incoming Superintendent Geiser for their consideration.

I write to inform you that, in the end, it is Superintendent Phelan's decision -- one made in conjunction with Dr. Geiser -- not to offer the position to either finalist candidate.  We will instead re-post the vacancy immediately for an "Interim Principal" position for the 2023-2024 school year.  Our next steps will be to secure a capable and experienced interim Principal prior to the traditional July 1 deadline.  Next year, we will again run a complete search for a permanent Principal who will begin July 1, 2024.

As the process of searching, interviewing, and ultimately contracting with an Interim Principal candidate unfolds between now and this July we will do our best to communicate the latest information to the Winn Brook community.  You have our promise that we will continue to do whatever it takes to find the highly qualified leader that the Winn Brook Elementary School deserves.
