The PTA funds all in school enrichment (assemblies and workshops) and out of school enrichment (field trips)!

We will post plans for this year, 2025/2026, as soon we are ready to make them public!

For some idea of what we may do, the 2024-2025 scheduled programs included the following:

Kindergarten

• Force and Motion Workshop (Acton Discovery Museum): Jan. 28, 2025

• Animal Adventures: June 2025

1st grade

• Lights and Lasers Workshop (Acton Discovery Museum): Feb. 28, 2025

• Professor Bugman visit: June 2025

2nd grade

• Physical Changes of Matter (Acton Discovery Museum): Jan. 27, 2025

• Franklin Zoo: June 3, 2025

3rd grade

• Field Trip to MIT May 2025

• Field Trip the the Aquarium in June 2025

Here is a sampling of possible field trip and enrichment programs at the butler during the school year:

kindergarten

• field trip to carlson orchards

• field trip to habitat, mass audubon education center and wildlife sanctuary

1st grade

• meteorologist visit (in-school program)

• field trip to discovery museum

• bugology (in-school program)

• field trip to the butterfly place

2nd grade

• sled dog visit with john kenney (in-school program)

• jambo africa presentation (in-school program)

• field trip to broadmoor, mass audubon wildlife sanctuary

3rd grade

• field trips to mit for lego car rally workshops 

• new england aquarium traveling program, tidepool adaptations (in-school)

• field trip to the freedom trail (paul revere house; old south meeting house)

• wampanoag visit: people of the east, plimoth plantation (in-school program) 

• weather: wind, water & temperature, mos (in-school program)
