Opening Remarks

Tomorrow, Thursday June 15th is the last day of school with an 11:40am Early Dismissal. Lunch will not be served.

That’s a wrap, Wellington! What a year it has been. The PTO is grateful to have been able to offer our full scope of programming & events in collaboration with the Wellington school team and align our values in all that we did - Equity, Curiosity and Caring. Our students thrive when we work together - and we succeed when we have the support of the community.

Thank You To...

Our list of Thank You’s is long! So we’ll start by casting a wide net to the entire Wellington community of parents and guardians, Wellington teachers and administration and supporting staff members - from the bottom of our hearts, we thank everyone who supported our students this year in the big and small ways.

To our engine! The PTO board members, event coordinators & co-chairs and volunteers, we could not have done it without you. Thank you for your time and devotion throughout the school year.

We want to shine a light specifically on Lucy Seche and Allison Dahl, our incredible Carnival co-chairs and VPs of Fundraising on the PTO board for organizing a very special day for our community last Saturday!

Big thank you to the 4GSO team facilitating all the festivities leading up to the big day! Earlier this week every 4th grader left their thumbprint in the core.

Thanks to our 4th grade families and guardians for your extremely generous donations for the 4th grade class gift which will be given as new library books for our Wellington library!

A Note from Rose & Michelle, Wellington Library

We love our library volunteers! Every year an enthusiastic army of volunteers come together to help the Wellington Library run smoothly. This year, we had over 100 people volunteer in one way or another; helping with classes, attending shelf-reading events, assisting with special projects, donating books, and supporting our exceptional Wellington PTO, which funds the library’s annual book budget. To each and everyone of you, we truly appreciate your love and support of the Wellington Library. And to our library coordinators, Sharon Sullivan, Erin Jones and Lara Lind, you have continuously put in extensive hours behind the scenes – we are so grateful for your dedication. Thank you all for another wonderful year!

Summer Happenings & Staying Connected:
As you know, the PTO provides many community and student enrichment events thanks to our fundraising and volunteer support. Joining the PTO is a wonderful way to build community at Wellington and support our staff and students. With an eye towards next school year, we invite you to complete our PTO Volunteer Interest form - and share how you would like to participate next school year: https://tinyurl.com/WellingtonVolunteers2023-24

Incoming Kindergarteners - Save-the-Dates
We host two Kindergarten play dates on the Blue playground at Wellington. The first is during the summer on Thursday August 31 from 5-7pm and the second is on Saturday September 9 from 10am-12pm. We will have name tags to help you meet your kindergarten classmates and new families and guardians. It’s a beloved community event at Wellington, and we hope to see you there!

Open Positions

Recruiting for 2023-24 School Year - Open PTO Board & Coordinator Roles:

We invite the Wellington community to look ahead to next year’s volunteer opportunities with the PTO! Open Coordinator roles and descriptions can be viewed here. Some roles have one person committed, and we’re looking for more to complete the team. If you are interested or have questions, please contact Co-President, Lindsay Kalmakis at wellingtonptopresidents@gmail.com

  • ASE: Have your children enjoyed the ASE offerings this year? Interested in teaching a one hour class next school year? We can’t offer this popular program without instructors. Parents / Guardians have taught classes in running, meditation, languages, and LEGO just to name a few! Have an idea? We’d love to hear from you! ase.wellington@gmail.com

The CUE Corner (Chenery Upper Elementary)

ATTENTION 4th Grade Families / Rising 5th Graders - We need your help!

  • The Chenery PTO is reorganizing due to the district reconfiguration.  The Chenery PTO is seeking individuals to fill positions for the Middle School PTO and Chenery Upper Elementary PTO.  Please fill out this form if you are interested in serving either organization.
  • Chenery After School Clubs

Do you think it's important for Chenery students to find their PASSION and make FRIENDS?  We are looking for volunteers to help run the Chenery PTO after school clubs in 2023-24. (Sadly, our current volunteers will be moving on to the High School.)

This year alone close to 300 students signed up to join in on the fun. We ran popular clubs like Dungeons and Dragons, Chess, Japanese for Fun, and more!  Without your help, the PTO clubs will not run!

Whatever your skills, please volunteer! The tasks are easy and don't require a lot of your time:

  1. Help Organize (respond to emails, set schedules, coordinate logistics)
  2. Plan Clubs to Offer (Recruit Instructors, Organize clubs for webmaster)
  3. Promote clubs to parents (Draft/Edit emails, Coordinate web updates)
  4. Manage the Finances (Process scholarships, organize instructor payroll)

For more information, please contact us at CheneryPTOClubs@gmail.com.
