Morning & Afternoon School Programs

The Wellington Student Care Program provides before and after school care for students grades kindergarten through fourth for students of the Wellington Elementary School in Belmont, MA. The program is licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (DEEC).

The Wellington PTO Student Care Programs will be open for operation on all regularly-scheduled school days. The Programs are closed during school holidays, vacations, snow days, and any other day on which school is not in session. If school is dismissed early due to bad weather, the Programs will also be closed. Parents will be called, and some staff will remain until all children are picked up.

Morning Care Program

The Morning Care Program is for children in grades K-4 and runs from 7:15 AM to 8:30 AM each regular school day. When children first arrive, they are offered a light breakfast (e.g., whole grain cereal, bagels and cream cheese, fruit, muffins). The children then participate in individual and/or group activities including arts and crafts, board games, legos, knock hockey, and sports and games in the gym. At 8:30 AM, the students are escorted to join their classes.

Drop-ins are available for Morning Care on as-needed basis for any student enrolled in the Student Care Program (including those who are enrolled only in After Care).
