Circulation Policy

Students in kindergarten through Grade 3 may borrow 1 book and students in Grade 4 may borrow 2 books during their weekly library visit. All books must be returned or renewed the following week during each class's scheduled library visit. Students who do not return their borrowed book at this time are not permitted to borrow another book until their book is returned. Books can be renewed up to 3 times.

Teachers and school staff can borrow an unlimited number of library materials at any time and keep them as long as they need them.

Lost Books

Students are responsible for returning all of the books that they check out. Regardless of where a student misplaces a book, he/she is responsible for replacing the book or reimbursing the library for the cost of the book. Book value can be found on the overdue notice. All checks should be made payable to "Wellington PTO/Library."

Parent/Guardian Volunteers

Parent/Guardian volunteers are essential to the success of Wellington's library program. The program could not exist without the commitment and support of parent volunteers. Parents sign up to volunteer in the Library at the beginning of each school year and must attend a training session before volunteering in the Library. Volunteer sign-ups will be sent out in an email at the start of each school year. For more information, please email: WellingtonLibraryVolunteer@gmail.com.

Volunteers are responsible for the following:

  • Checking-in books being returned
  • Renewing books
  • Checking out books being borrowed
  • Running and printing overdue notices
  • Shelving all classroom books returned
