Introducing School Supply Kits for 2023-24 School Year!

Save time and money and get ahead of the August rush by purchasing your student’s fall school supplies NOW. The PTO worked with Wellington teachers to create grade-specific teacher-requested brand name supply lists. The supply kits have everything your student will need for next fall at a cost savings of around 30% versus retail prices and will be shipped directly to your child’s classroom before the first day of school. So you can save time AND money! Order now with our School ID of WEL103 at https://www.educationalproducts.com/shoppacks/

Carnival is Coming!

Did someone say…Raffle? Final call for volunteers for our best-ever Carnival, held rain or shine on Saturday, June 10 from 11 am - 3 pm. Sign up here! CORI forms due by May 26. We’ll have three bouncy houses, Melt food truck, Cotton Candy, Sno Cones, and MORE…

Introducing the Wellington Traffic & Student Safety Team!  Help us keep our students safe and monitor the bus driveway as this is a “no drop-off” area.

  • We are aiming to find one volunteer each morning from 8:20am-8:55am. Volunteers must sign-in at the main office and obtain a safety vest. You can sign-up here!
  • Also, please remember to be considerate when parking around Wellington and do not block the crosswalks or the driveways of our neighbors. There is no active pick up. Please do not pull into the parking lot or driveway at dismissal to retrieve your child.
  • Thank you to Erika Wolf for leading this team and our efforts towards student safety.

Thank You To...

From the Library: Thank you to all the wonderful volunteers who helped Wellington celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage month. A special thank you to Lara Lind for helping to organize readers. We are very grateful to all our volunteers!

DEI Corner

The Month of May is a time to recognize and celebrate the rich cultural heritage, history, and contributions of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPIs), Haitian Heritage, Indian Heritage  and  Jewish American Heritage to the United States. May also kicks off Mental Health Awareness Month (MHAM). Mental health includes a person’s emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how a person thinks, feels, and acts as well as helps determine how one handles stress, relates to others, and makes healthy choices.

Open Positions

Recruiting for 2023-24 School Year - Open PTO Board & Coordinator Roles:

We invite the Wellington community to look ahead to next year’s volunteer opportunities with the PTO! Open Coordinator roles and descriptions can be viewed here. Some roles have one person committed, and we’re looking for more to complete the team. If you are interested or have questions, please contact Co-President, Lindsay Kalmakis at wellingtonptopresidents@gmail.com

  • ASE: Have your children enjoyed the ASE offerings this year? Interested in teaching a one hour class next school year? We can’t offer this popular program without instructors. Parents / Guardians have taught classes in running, meditation, languages, and LEGO just to name a few! Have an idea? We’d love to hear from you! ase.wellington@gmail.com

The CUE Corner (Chenery Upper Elementary)

ATTENTION 4th Grade Families / Rising 5th Graders - We need your help!

  • The Chenery PTO is reorganizing due to the district reconfiguration.  The Chenery PTO is seeking individuals to fill positions for the Middle School PTO and Chenery Upper Elementary PTO.  Please fill out this form if you are interested in serving either organization.
  • Chenery After School Clubs

Do you think it's important for Chenery students to find their PASSION and make FRIENDS?  We are looking for volunteers to help run the Chenery PTO after school clubs in 2023-24. (Sadly, our current volunteers will be moving on to the High School.)

This year alone close to 300 students signed up to join in on the fun. We ran popular clubs like Dungeons and Dragons, Chess, Japanese for Fun, and more!  Without your help, the PTO clubs will not run!

Whatever your skills, please volunteer! The tasks are easy and don't require a lot of your time:

  1. Help Organize (respond to emails, set schedules, coordinate logistics)
  2. Plan Clubs to Offer (Recruit Instructors, Organize clubs for webmaster)
  3. Promote clubs to parents (Draft/Edit emails, Coordinate web updates)
  4. Manage the Finances (Process scholarships, organize instructor payroll)

For more information, please contact us at CheneryPTOClubs@gmail.com.
