May is here and we’re in the final weeks of the school year. We have more exciting events to look forward to! Whether you can volunteer or join as an attendee, we look forward to seeing you at MultiCultural Night (this Friday, May 5) and Carnival (June 10).
Multicultural Night is this Friday!
Volunteers Needed: We Can’t Make Carnival Happen without You on June 10
Carnival is back for more bouncy houses, face painting, music, cotton candy, food trucks and fun this year on Saturday, June 10 from 11 am - 3 pm. Volunteer slots are now open and if you sign up, you’ll get a limited edition carnival t-shirt. Sign up here!
Attention Current Kindergarten Families: Are you looking for something for your child to do on the May 11 and 12 Kindergarten intake days? Einstein’s Workshop is offering STEAM Days in Burlington, MA. Read more here! Morning sessions ($90) run 9am-noon and afternoon sessions ($90) run 1-4pm. Parents can drop off as early as 8:15am and pick up as late as 5:45pm for an additional fee if they need full day coverage. Those who sign up for the morning and afternoon session get the lunch hour for no additional fee. Half day campers may also join for the lunch hour for a small additional fee. A portion of the proceeds benefit the Wellington PTO and the Burbank PTA.
Introducing the Wellington Traffic & Student Safety Team! Help us keep our students safe and monitor the bus driveway as this is a “no drop-off” area.
Sara Colleary and Ingrid Henry for bringing back the Boston-Belmont District-wide bowling event! And thanks to the PTO/PTAs representing all Belmont Public Schools for supporting the evening. We had over 100 bowlers, and students enjoyed the arcade, pizza and getting to know others from across the BPS.
AAPI Heritage Month
Wellington is celebrating AAPI Heritage by reading biographies of important Asian-American and Pacific Islanders during library time this week! The books will be provided by the library.
Recruiting for 2023-24 School Year - Open PTO Board & Coordinator Roles:
We invite the Wellington community to look ahead to next year’s volunteer opportunities with the PTO! Open Coordinator roles and descriptions can be viewed here. Some roles have one person committed, and we’re looking for more to complete the team. If you are interested or have questions, please contact Co-President, Lindsay Kalmakis at wellingtonptopresidents@gmail.com
ATTENTION 4th Grade Families / Rising 5th Graders - We need your help!
Do you think it's important for Chenery students to find their PASSION and make FRIENDS? We are looking for volunteers to help run the Chenery PTO after school clubs in 2023-24. (Sadly, our current volunteers will be moving on to the High School.)
This year alone close to 300 students signed up to join in on the fun. We ran popular clubs like Dungeons and Dragons, Chess, Japanese for Fun, and more! Without your help, the PTO clubs will not run!
Whatever your skills, please volunteer! The tasks are easy and don't require a lot of your time:
