Opening Remarks

  • LAST CHANCE!
Spirit Wear orders are due by Friday, November 4th. Tackle some holiday shopping and support Wellington at the same time! Place your order here!
  • The Scholastic Book Fair Is Coming!
This month, Wellington’s Community Room will be transformed into an extravaganza of books for our children. We invite you and your family to explore the adventures, mysteries and magic found in these books. We are aiming to grow Bolder, Prouder, Stronger Readers!
  • Come volunteer! This year, the Book Fair is back in full force so we need your help to make this huge fundraising event a fun success! From setting up and decorating (November 8 & 9) to helping with classroom preview days (November 10 & 14) to operating the cash registers, helping the kids shop (November 15 to 17), and packing up (November 17), we can’t do it without you. No experience is necessary, and a fun time is guaranteed! Join us by adding your name to the schedule: Book Fair Sign Up.

*Note from the PTO Co-Presidents regarding volunteer sign-ups:

  • Completed CORI checks and confidentiality forms are required for all volunteers - visit the Wellington main office to submit.
  • For our Nov. 10-14 volunteers (preview) - please submit forms ASAP
  • For our Nov. 15-17 volunteers (sales week) - please sign up no later than Nov. 7.
  • **The evening time slots (5-8pm) are a great opportunity for working families to volunteer and meet families in our community!
  • Shop the Book Fair November 15-17! If you can’t volunteer to help, that’s alright. Come do some early holiday shopping instead. A portion of the sales during the Book Fair will go to the Wellington PTO which will help fund our kids’ enrichment programs and field trips.

If you have any questions about the Book Fair or eager to volunteer, please email the Book Fair Team at wellingtonbookfair@gmail.com.

  • Early Dismissal @ 11:40 am Today is an early release day.  Dismissal will be at 11:40 and no lunch will be served. Teachers will be meeting with parents/guardians for conferences.

Thank You To...

Thank You to YOU, the Wellington community - extending to friends and family of our students - for supporting our biggest Fall fundraiser, the Fun Run. Thanks to your generous contributions, we have raised $19,285! These funds make many things possible for our students to enjoy this school year, including: in-school enrichment, field trips, teacher supplies and so much more!

Thank you to Jessica Morgan and Mary Ellen Birenbaum, our Kindergarten In-School Enrichment Coordinators, for organizing a wonderful session with the Acton Discovery Museum!

Reminders:

  • Please remember to be considerate when parking around Wellington and do not block the crosswalks or the driveways of our neighbors. There is no active pick up. Please do not pull into the parking lot or driveway at dismissal to retrieve your child.
  • Please help make field trips, in-school enrichment programs and teacher appreciation events (and more!) possible this year by making an annual donation to the PTO. Every dollar you give supports Wellington students, teachers and our community, and it's tax deductible.
    • Pay online via credit card
    • Send a check payable to Wellington PTO (Memo: “Annual Fund” and your child’s name) and return to school in their Communications Folder OR mail to: Wellington School, ATTN: Wellington PTO, 121 Orchard Street, Belmont, MA 02478
  • Amazon Smile How-To - If you shop on Amazon (and who doesn’t!) AmazonSmile is an easy way to support PTO - just set it and forget it!

Don’t forget to update your app to the AmazonSmile App, and your bookmark to the Amazon Smile storefront. Search “Wellington PTO Inc” to find our charity.
