Opening Remarks

Wellington Community, It’s FUN RUN time!

During the school day on Friday, October 14th (approx 8:45 - 10:30am), all students will participate in a Fun Run (...or walk…or roll) on a quarter mile loop around the school. Our goal is to promote the importance of physical activity and raise $15,000 for the PTO, which funds many enrichment activities throughout the year. Kids and families get really excited to participate or watch this event!

Steps for parents:

2. Reach out to family and friends by sharing the donation link
3. Volunteer to help out or cheer on the kids on October 14!

Picture Day Orders Through October 3

We had a successful picture day last Friday after the storms! Order via www.haywardphotography.com, code WELF22, or mail payment with the paper form. Orders through October 3 will benefit the PTO.

Thank you to all the volunteers who have signed-up to help in the library! We have a few classes that still need more volunteers: Walsh (grade K - needs 1) Alger (2nd grade - needs 1) Ebdon (2nd grade - needs 2) Mailloux (3rd grade - needs 2) This is an excellent light lift volunteer opportunity for busy working families.

The 66 PARENTS who’ve completed their CORI forms in the first few weeks of school! There’s still time to complete and submit your CORI form - volunteering opportunities come up throughout the year. We need your help to make our events successful!

 

Open Positions:

If you are interested in volunteering, please fill out the Wellington PTO Volunteer Interest Form 2022-23!

• We still need Room Parents for the following classrooms: Alger (2nd grade), Mailloux (3rd grade), Tenhor (4th grade)
• Co-Chair International Walk, Bike, Roll to School Day - we have one chair who would love a partner! Most of this job can be done remotely. One hour (7:45 am - 8:45 am) commitment day of the event.
• Directory Coordinator - Are you familiar with Adobe InDesign? Do you have an exceptional attention to detail? We’re looking for support with our Directory. This job can be done completely remotely.
• The School Advisory Council is seeking new members. The Advisory Council is a group made up of parents and school staff that discusses big picture issues related to the governance of the school (school improvement plan, budget, etc.).  Meetings are about 5 times a year. • Are you an organized person who wants to make this year the most successful Spirit Wear program EVER? We're looking for a Spirit Wear coordinator to help manage sales and communications. You don't need any creative experience or ability, but if you have great ideas for cool merch, all the better. Email us at wellingtonptofundraising@gmail.com.

 

Reminders:

• Last Call - Only a couple days left to complete your Student Update Form - you should have received an email the 2nd week of school from Belmont_Schools.sent_via@rediker.com. Make sure you’re included in the Wellington Directory!

• Please remember to be considerate when parking around Wellington and do not block the crosswalks or the driveways of our neighbors. There is no active pick up. Please do not pull into the parking lot or driveway at dismissal to retrieve your child.
• Please help make field trips, in-school enrichment programs and teacher appreciation events (and more!) possible this year by making an annual donation to the PTO. Every dollar you give supports Wellington students, teachers and our community, and it's tax deductible.
