Opening Remarks

Welcome to the first full week of school! We were delighted to meet many of you at our PTO Welcome Table. We hope to meet more of you this Thursday at our Fall Picnic! We have our first PTO General Meeting of the year on Monday and hope that you’ll be able to join us.

• Looking for a quick, easy way to support your child and Wellington teachers? Please consider making an annual donation to support the Wellington PTO! Donations directly benefit our students and teachers by enabling the PTO to fund in-school enrichment programs, field trips, community events and provide teachers with funds to help set-up their classrooms. 
  • Pay online via credit card
  • Send a check payable to Wellington PTO (Memo: “Annual Fund” and your child’s name) and return to school in their Communications Folder OR mail to: Wellington School, ATTN: Wellington PTO, 121 Orchard Street, Belmont, MA 02478
• This Thursday, join us on the Wellington Field (blue playground side) for our Fall Picnic! Pack a picnic or order from the Food Trucks! Trolley Dogs and Zack’s Ice Cream will be there!
• SAY CHEESE! Picture Day is Thursday, September 22 for K-4 students. Look for order forms in the communication folders, and remember all pre-orders help support the PTO!
• Calling All Library Volunteers! Our Library Volunteer Signs ups are OUT! Click here to sign up to help your student's classroom!  
• Don’t forget to complete your Student Update Form - you should have received an email on Monday from Belmont_Schools.sent_via@rediker.com

• Sept. 22    PICTURE DAY! - A portion of all pre-order sales go towards the PTO!

• Oct. 3       After School Extracurricular (ASE) registration opens.
• Oct. 12     International Walk, Bike, Roll to School Day.
• Oct. 14     Fun Run - our biggest Fall fundraiser - come cheer on your student(s)! 
• Oct. 21     Family Movie Night @ Wellington Field

Thanks to all of the parents and guardians who submitted your CORI forms to the main office. Hooray, you are all set for 3 years and can now sign-up for our volunteer opportunities! Scan the QR code and complete the Google Form.

• Directory Coordinator - Are you familiar with Adobe InDesign? Do you have an exceptional attention to detail? We’re looking for support with our Directory. This job can be done completely remotely.

Reminders:

• For Extra Credit! Did you know your Amazon purchases can benefit Wellington at no additional cost to you? Start shopping at Amazon Smile and set Wellington PTO Inc (make sure it's the one located in Belmont, MA) as the charitable organization of your choice. Easy instructions can be found here. 
• CORI.  Everyone will receive a CORI form (one per household - feel free to make a copy) in your Communications Folder. If you can support the PTO and would like to volunteer, CORI forms are required for every parent volunteer. Bring the completed form and an ID to the Wellington office and you’re all set. CORIs are valid for three years! We highly recommend you get these completed early in the school year.
• Please remember to be considerate when parking around Wellington and do not block the crosswalks or the driveways of our neighbors.
• There is no active pick up. Please do not pull into the parking lot or driveway at dismissal to retrieve your child.
