We are so grateful for our wonderful Burbank Community! Thanks to all of our parent volunteers, the Burbank PTA was able to put on many exciting events this year. We started the year with the Back to School Fall Social, enjoying cotton candy and whipped cream pie contests while dunking favorite teachers and even the principal in the dunk tank. This was followed by our beloved Burbank Lights the Way event in late October where families enjoyed painting pumpkins, decorating luminary bags, and settling in with pizza and popcorn for a showing of the Dogman movie. December brought our one-day Book Fair to the gymnasium for some last minute holiday finds. In February, our families came together at Multicultural Night to share food, crafts, and dances from their cultures. March brought the fun as students and families danced the night away with DJ Paul & DJ Carlo at our annual Family Dance. We also thanked last years' retirees with a special Library Night with our Beehive Book Quote Mural Dedication and enjoyed stories read by beloved educators. STEM Night was a success in April, allowing students to explore science and technology and try their hands on their own experiments. In May, the 29th Geography Challenge took place in the evening and challenged the students' mastery of curriculum-based geography knowledge. The month ended with a beautiful spring morning for an exciting Field Day for all students. In June, we celebrated our 3rd Graders' final year at Burbank with a relaxed BYO 3rd Grade Picnic and games on the Burbank front lawn.

The PTA couldn't have done all these amazing events without the help and support of our families - whether you donated your time, energy, money, or showed up to support, you made a difference for the students. Thank you!

Calling all incoming Burbank Kindergarteners!

The Burbank PTA is hosting two upcoming playdates this August for our incoming Burbank kindergarteners!

Friday, August 7th, 4:00-7:00 PM: Kindergarten Pizza Playdate at the Splash Park & Playground in Arsenal Community Park, Watertown, MA.

Plenty of parking near the park and bathrooms located by the basketball courts. Look for the sign at picnic tables indicating where Burbank kindergarteners will be gathering to meet. Optional: Wear Bright Green! Kindergarten Families only - Siblings welcome. This is a great opportunity to make at least one new Burbank connection this summer!

Sunday, August 30th, 9:00-11:00 AM: Kindergarten Coffee & Donuts Morning Playdate at Burbank Playground.

Meet at Maeve's Corner for nametags indicating your child's classroom teacher assignment! This is a great opportunity to meet other kindergarteners in your child's class before school starts. Kindergarten Families only - Siblings welcome. Please note - there are no bathrooms available at Burbank.
