Check out Burbank Schooltwist for a sneak peek to learn more about our class offerings. Registration will open on Monday, March 18 at 7:00AM. Please reach out to burbankptaxtra@gmail.com with any questions.

Burbank Directory

The PTA Burbank Directories were distributed and came home in your youngest child's folder on Friday. HUGE thank yous to Paul Wyon who did the design, layout, and production coordination with Belmont Printing and to Anne Mahon, a local realtor, for generously sponsoring the printing costs of the directory!

Spring Fundraising

The final fundraising push to reach our annual goal of $23,000 will be kicking off the week of 3/18, and the PTA is back with MORE amazing prizes and gift cards through early May. The more you donate, the more chances to win! Remember to check with your company for corporate matching. Stay tuned for more info next week; we have fantastic prizes from local Belmont businesses like Champions, Indigo Fire, Quebrada Bakery, and The Wellington. Keep an eye out for chances to win gift cards, products, and services in nearby towns, such as Tori Jiro and Central Rock Gym in Watertown, Pinot's Palette in Lexington, the Discovery Museum in Acton, and many more! We need $9,000 more in donations to hit our goal and be able to fully fund all of the planned classroom enrichments, teacher support, and community events through the end of this school year. For more information, please email the PTA at maryleeburbankpta@gmail.com and consider making a donation via cash/check in your child's backpack or online at our PTA store. Thank you!

Our teachers are gold - let's celebrate them!

We want to showcase all facets of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math! Please consider signing up to host a station to exhibit an activity, demonstration, or just knowledge sharing! Unfortunately, we are in desperate need of hosts to make this the truly special night our students have been begging to have! If you have hosted before, you are welcome to replicate the same activity. For new families, we are happy to provide a list of ideas if you are interested but don't know where to start. Help us make this a memorable experience for our students! We have extended the STEM sign up to 3/22 - please consider hosting! The event will take place Thursday, April 11th 6PM-8PM in the Burbank Gymnasium.

PTA Weekly Reminders

Volunteer During Your Child's Library Time!

Sign up to volunteer in the library during your child's weekly class visit or at drop off to re-shelve books and tidy shelves! The library needs volunteers interested in checking in/out books, re-shelving, and tidying. It is a special opportunity to see your child and their classmates engaged in a school activity. A few notes: navigate to your child's classroom using the grade level tabs along the top of the sign-up; slots open up at the last minute so check the sign-up if you find you are suddenly available; and please cancel if you are sick or younger child childcare falls through. See you in the library!

There are now slots available through the above sign-up link to come shelve books right after drop-off.  Come in for 5-25 minutes to help and enjoy all that is new in the Burbank Library!

Help Determine the Future of the PTA Leadership - Join the Nominating Committee!

In order to remain compliant with the MA and National PTA and to maintain our 501(c) non-profit status, the Burbank PTA needs to have a nominating committee of 3-5 individuals that will nominate at least one eligible person for each office to be filled and report its nominees at the PTA general community meeting in May/June, at which time additional nominations may be made from the community as well.  If you have an interest in joining the nominating committee and helping to find rockstar individuals to keep the PTA running strong, please reach out to the PTA via email maryleeburbankpta@gmail.com.

PTA Committee Positions Still Available!

The Burbank PTA runs 100% on a volunteer engine, and we have many committees available to share your skills and passions while giving back to Burbank and our wonderful students! When there are many volunteers, the distribution of work is spread out, and we can accomplish more. Please consider continuing to make Burbank the special place that it is by joining or leading one of our Committees focused on specific tasks, such as fundraising, website/social media communications, BOKS (Build Our Kids Success) fitness program, Green Team (focused on recycling/sustainability at Burbank), and much more!  We'd love to hear your thoughts and ideas! Please visit the PTA Board & Committees for more information on the open positions and reach out to the Burbank PTA via email maryleeburbankpta@gmail.com for more information.  We'd love to see involvement from more families, esp. representing all of our grades, to ensure the PTA can continue its rich history of giving back to Burbank!

Donate to the Burbank PTA and Help Make a Difference!

We are a long way from reaching our fundraising goal this year which will allow the PTA to continue providing many valuable classroom enrichments, teacher support, and community building events and activities.  We encourage all families to consider donating to ensure we can provide these much-needed supports to our educators and our beloved school. Donations can be made online through the PTA store, or checks can be sent in your child's classroom folder or dropped off at the school office.  Checks can be made payable to Burbank PTA.

As a reminder, the Burbank PTA exists to support our teachers and classroom where and when the school budget doesn't allow for the additional funding to provide enrichments, teacher reimbursements and staff grants, field trips, Moving On Ceremonies, community events (Fall Social, Lights The Way) and much more.  The Burbank PTA is volunteer run, so every hour of time and dollar donated is all given back to our beloved school.  Every gift, no matter the size, is greatly appreciated!
