Burbank Stories & Songs Event a Success!

Thank you to the 50+ families who hopped online last Thursday to join our virtual Library Night event, Burbank Stories & Songs! We were treated to 4 fantastic book readings by Mrs. Hardy, Ms. Hardy, and Mr. Mongeau (with special guest appearances by Mr. Mongeau's kids!).  And to wrap up the fun, we had 3 beautiful winter-themed sing-a-long songs from Mrs. Ianuzzi (accompanied by Mr. Ianuzzi on the piano).  A huge thanks again to our amazing educators who took the time out of their evenings to join us to make this event a great success.  The PTA exists to bring our Burbank community together just like this, so we hope everyone enjoyed this event and look forward for more events this school year!

TONIGHT (Monday 12/18): PTA Community Meeting from 5-5:50pm in the Library, Online Link Below

We hope to see many families at our PTA Community event TONIGHT, Monday 12/18 from 5-5:50pm in the Burbank Library.  While in-person attendance is strongly encouraged, we understand scheduled and logistics can be tough so we will also have a Google Meet link available for those who need to join virtually.  Please click here to join the meeting at 5pm tonight: meet.google.com/pap-xsnp-cub

Those who need to bring their children with them to the meeting can do so, but please plan to bring a quiet activity for them to do during the meeting so they stay occupied; the PTA will also have coloring pages and materials available as well.  Additionally, we want to be sure we leave the library space as organized as it was when the school day ended, so for the purposes of this after hours meeting the library books will be off-limits and no food will be allowed inside the library.  We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in advance.

For those interested in seeing the agenda in advance, please see below:

  • 5:00 - 5:05pm - Kickoff/Introduction to the Burbank PTA
  • 5:05 - 5:10pm - Current PTA Board Positions & Responsibilities

Winter Break: No School from 12/25 - 1/1

We hope everyone enjoys some much-deserved time off between Christmas and New Year's with friends, family and loved ones.  There will be no school the week of December 25th, in addition to January 1st.  We look forward to seeing some well-rest (and hopefully healthy) students back at Burbank on Tuesday, January 2nd!

Winter Session of PTA Extracurriculars: Sneak Peek Available After Winter Break

Stay tuned for a sneak peek of the extracurricular class offerings organized and in support of the PTA!  Class details will be available after we all return from Winter Break the week of Jan 2nd and registration for this next 8-week session will open shortly after.  The winter session classes will start the week of January 22nd.

Volunteer During Your Child's Library Time!

Sign up to volunteer to help out in the library during your child's weekly class visit or at drop off to re-shelve and tidy shelves. The library needs volunteers interested in checking in and checking out books, re-shelving books and tidying shelves.   It is a nice opportunity to see a class engaged in a school activity. Please use the link HERE to learn more about volunteering and to sign up for an upcoming slot.  A few notes: navigate to your child's classroom using the grade level tabs along the top of the sign-up; slots open up at the last minute so check the sign-up if you find you are suddenly available; and, please cancel if you are sick, or appear sick, or younger child childcare falls through.  See you in the library!

If you are unable to come into the library during your student’s class time but want to make a contribution there are now slots available through the above sign-up link to come shelve books right after drop off.  Come in for 5-25 minutes and help shelve books and see all that is new in the Burbank Library!

Sign-Up to Show Our Teachers Appreciation Throughout the Year!

Sign-up to show appreciation for our teachers by bringing snacks for the Burbank Staff Meetings!  Each volunteer should buy enough snacks for 20 (we'll have two volunteers per meeting so we can cover the entire staff).  Example snacks include fresh fruit, pretzels, trail mix, popcorn, granola bars, cookies, nuts, etc.  Snacks can be dropped off in the front office on the morning of the meeting. Click here to sign up and thanks for showing our teachers some love!

Donate to the Burbank PTA and Help Make a Difference!

While the fall fundraising push has wrapped up, we still have a ways to go  in this school year to reach out fundraising goal which will allow the PTA to continue providing many valuable classroom enrichments, teacher support and community building events and activities.  We encourage all families to consider donating if they have not already, to ensure we can provide the much needed support to our educators and our beloved school. Donations can be made online through the PTA store, or checks can still be sent in with your child's classroom folder or dropped off at the school office.  Checks can be made payable to Burbank PTA.

As a reminder, the Burbank PTA exists to support our teachers and classroom, where and when the school budget doesn't allow for the additional funding to provide enrichments, teacher reimbursements and staff grants, field trips, Moving On Ceremonies, community events (Fall Social, Lights The Way) and much more.  The Burbank PTA is volunteer run, so every hour of time and dollar donated is all given back to our beloved school.  Every gift, no matter the size, is greatly appreciated!
