This year the Burbank PTA is taking Library Night back online to help allow more families to attend on a weeknight evening.  We're bringing some music into the mix with some singalongs in addition to some bedtime stories so mark your calendars and get your PJs ready!  PLUS, don't miss guest appearances from Mr. Mongeau (3rd grade), Mrs. Hardy (3rd grade), Ms. Hardy (K) and Ms. Ianuzzi (Music) - a huge thanks to these teachers for joining us for this special evening for our community to come together from the comforts of our own homes.  Please use the following link on Thursday evening at 7pm to join the fun: https://meet.google.com/osg-kssa-dyj

Save The Date: PTA Community Meeting next Monday 12/18 from 5-5:50pm

Thank you to all families and teachers who took the survey to help determine the date/time/format of our first PTA Community Meeting.  It's tough to accommodate everyone's busy schedules, so based on all responses received, we will be holding the meeting on Monday 12/18 from 5-5:50pm in the Burbank Library.  We are working on a Google Meet link for those who can't attend in person, though in-person attendance is strong encouraged.

Those who need to bring their children with them to the meeting can do so, but please plan to bring a quiet activity for them to do during the meeting so they stay occupied.  Additionally, we want to be sure we leave the library space as organized as it was when the school day ended, so for the purposes of this after hours meeting the library books will be off-limits and no food will be allowed inside the library.  We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in advance.

Unfortunately as BASEC is running at the same time, the PTA was unable to line up a childcare solution, but we hope that between being able to bring your children or joining online (if necessary) enable you to participate as all voices and opinions of our entire Burbank community matter and help determine the initiatives that matter for the PTA.

Finally, thank you to those who provided additional responses on topics you'd like to ensure we cover - the PTA is finalizing the agenda this week and will be sure to provide that in advance of the meeting via an email sent by the Room Parents.  If there are any topics you want to be sure we cover, please send an email to maryleeburbankpta@gmail.com.

Volunteer During Your Child's Library Time!

Sign up to volunteer to help out in the library during your child's weekly class visit or at drop off to re-shelve and tidy shelves. The library needs volunteers interested in checking in and checking out books, re-shelving books and tidying shelves.   It is a nice opportunity to see a class engaged in a school activity. Please use the link HERE to learn more about volunteering and to sign up for an upcoming slot.  A few notes: navigate to your child's classroom using the grade level tabs along the top of the sign-up; slots open up at the last minute so check the sign-up if you find you are suddenly available; and, please cancel if you are sick, or appear sick, or younger child childcare falls through.  See you in the library!

If you are unable to come into the library during your student’s class time but want to make a contribution there are now slots available through the above sign-up link to come shelve books right after drop off.  Come in for 5-25 minutes and help shelve books and see all that is new in the Burbank Library!

Sign-Up to Show Our Teachers Appreciation Throughout the Year!

Sign-up to show appreciation for our teachers by bringing snacks for the Burbank Staff Meetings!  Each volunteer should buy enough snacks for 20 (we'll have two volunteers per meeting so we can cover the entire staff).  Example snacks include fresh fruit, pretzels, trail mix, popcorn, granola bars, cookies, nuts, etc.  Snacks can be dropped off in the front office on the morning of the meeting. Click here to sign up and thanks for showing our teachers some love!

Donate to the Burbank PTA and Help Make a Difference!

While the fall fundraising push has wrapped up, we still have a ways to go  in this school year to reach out fundraising goal which will allow the PTA to continue providing many valuable classroom enrichments, teacher support and community building events and activities.  We encourage all families to consider donating if they have not already, to ensure we can provide the much needed support to our educators and our beloved school. Donations can be made online through the PTA store, or checks can still be sent in with your child's classroom folder or dropped off at the school office.  Checks can be made payable to Burbank PTA.

As a reminder, the Burbank PTA exists to support our teachers and classroom, where and when the school budget doesn't allow for the additional funding to provide enrichments, teacher reimbursements and staff grants, field trips, Moving On Ceremonies, community events (Fall Social, Lights The Way) and much more.  The Burbank PTA is volunteer run, so every hour of time and dollar donated is all given back to our beloved school.  Every gift, no matter the size, is greatly appreciated!
