Week3RaffleWinner-1Week3RaffleWinner-2

Congratulations to the Week 3 Fundraising Raffle Winners...Zoe Fonseca-Kelly & Prakash Gurung!

It was another huge week of fundraising for the Burbank PTA, and the largest by far -  we saw donations from 20 families (and teachers!) in addition to a very generous corporate contribution bringing our one week total to $3,400!  We are now at 33% of our goal, having raised over $8,000 in direct donations and corporate matching since the start of the school year.  Thank you to everyone who donated, your contributions are truly appreciated and with the continued generosity of our amazing community we are well positioned to give back to our educators, school and students throughout the year.

As a reminder, the Burbank PTA exists to support our teachers and classroom, where and when the school budget doesn't allow for the additional funding to provide enrichments, teacher reimbursements and staff grants, field trips, Moving On Ceremonies, community events (Fall Social, Lights The Way) and much more.  The Burbank PTA is volunteer run, so every hour of time and dollar donated is all given back to our beloved school.

The PTA estimates that we spend between $75 to $150 per child each calendar year, so the more we are able to raise, the more we are able to give back!  We hope that you will consider making a donation this year to continue all of the valuable PTA contributions make for current and future Burbank students to come.  Every gift, no matter the size, is greatly appreciated!

Save The Date: Burbank Stories & Songs Night on 12/14 from 7-8pm - ONLINE!

This year the Burbank PTA is taking Burbank Library Night back online to help allow more families to attend on a weeknight evening.  This year, we're bringing some music into the mix with some singalongs in addition to some bedtime stories read by some amazing Burbank teachers and staff, so mark your calendars, get your PJs ready and don't miss it!

PTA Community Meeting - Survey To Be Sent Out to Pick a Date & Time

The first PTA Community Meeting will be held in-person next month, and we want to see as many families and teachers there because the Burbank PTA works for all of you, so we need to hear from our community! An agenda will be provided in advance, and if you have any specific topics you'd like to bring up, feel free to email the PTA so we can be sure to touch on it.  Keep an eye out for a survey from Room Parents to weigh in on your preferred date and time and we hope you will make the time to attend this important meeting.

PTA Extracurricular Classes Ending Soon, Stay Tuned for Session 2 Registration!

The fall session of our PTA extracurricular classes are wrapping up this week and next. We thank you for your continued support of our wonderful Burbank school!  Please remember that every dollar that the PTA earns through our classes goes right back to our community via teacher grants, supplies, enrichment classes, etc.

We are already in the process of planning our winter session classes, which will tentatively begin the week of January 22nd. Keep your eyes peeled for class info and registrations!

Show Your Burbank Pride - Spirit Day is next Thursday, 11/30!

We all know Burbank is the best, so let's come together as a community and show off our Burbank Pride!  Next Thursday 11/30 is the next Town Budget Summit where conversations will continue that could impact the future of Burbank, so there's no better time to wear your Burbank gear to school.  Students, teachers, families - everyone is encouraged to join in! If you own Burbank gear, sport it with pride!  Don't own any Burbank gear (yet)?  Don't fret - you can join the fun and wear our school color (blue) or better yet, purchase some spirit wear and show your love for Burbank over and over (and over).

Burbank t-shirts are available in the online store here and are available in kids and adult sizes.  Plus, it's one of the softest shirts that you'll ever own and is made here in the USA with organic cotton. If you order online, we will make sure to get you your t-shirt in time for Spirit Day on 11/30!

Prefer to see these shirts in person?  No problem, the Burbank PTA has you covered! We will have volunteers stationed at the playground and the blacktop on Mon 11/27 and Tues 11/28 from 8:15-8:45am with shirts available for purchase.  Cash is preferred, but you can also scan the online store QR code on-site to purchase with a credit card and pick up your shirt right there and then so you are ready for Thursday.

Volunteer During Your Child's Library Time!

Sign up to volunteer to help out in the library during your child's weekly class visit or at drop off to re-shelve and tidy shelves. The library needs volunteers interested in checking in and checking out books, re-shelving books and tidying shelves.   It is a nice opportunity to see a class engaged in a school activity. Please use the link HERE to learn more about volunteering and to sign up for an upcoming slot.  A few notes: navigate to your child's classroom using the grade level tabs along the top of the sign-up; slots open up at the last minute so check the sign-up if you find you are suddenly available; and, please cancel if you are sick, or appear sick, or younger child childcare falls through.  See you in the library!

If you are unable to come into the library during your student’s class time but want to make a contribution there are now slots available through the above sign-up link to come shelve books right after drop off.  Come in for 5-25 minutes and help shelve books and see all that is new in the Burbank Library!
