FundraisingWeek1Raff...

Congratulations to the Week 1 Fundraising Raffle Winner...Hiroyuki Kobayashi! Thank you to all of the amazing families who donated for the first week of the Burbank PTA's big fundraising push to reach our goal of $25,000. And congratulations to the winner of our Week 1 raffle for a $50 gift card to Number 1 Taste - Hiroyuki Kobayashi!  We raised just shy of $2,000 last week from generous donations, bringing our total raised this year to $2,770.  That means we have reached 11% of our goal, so we still have quite a ways to go!

As a reminder, the Burbank PTA exists to support our teachers and classroom, where and when the school budget doesn't allow for the additional funding to provide enrichments, teacher reimbursements and staff grants, field trips, Moving On Ceremonies, community events (Fall Social, Lights The Way) and much more.  The Burbank PTA is volunteer run, so every hour of time and dollar donated is all given back to our beloved school.

The PTA estimates that we spend between $75 to $150 per child each calendar year, so the more we are able to raise, the more we are able to give back!  We hope that you will consider making a donation this year to continue all of the valuable PTA contributions make for current and future Burbank students to come.  Every gift, no matter the size, is greatly appreciated!

Make Your Voice Heard, Learn More About the Upcoming Select Board Budget DecisionsThe Belmont, MA Select Board is currently deliberating the size of the tax override that residents will vote on in April. They repeatedly hear from a small number of residents at public budget forums, but don't hear from the majority of residents. Let's make sure our Burbank community is represented in this important decision!  Please visit this link to ensure the Select Board has all the input and feedback needed to ensure all of our Belmont community values are upheld.

If you are not familiar with the upcoming election and what this could mean for Burbank, don't fret!  It can be overwhelming.  We have many friendly and knowledgable Burbank families who would be happy to help educate and share more information to better understand what's going on and what the implications might be.  Please feel free to email the Burbank PTA at maryleeburbankpta@gmail.com and we can get you in touch with someone to chat with!
