Parent Volunteers Still Needed!

The PTA is still looking for volunteers to help coordinate classroom enrichments! The role mainly involves sending a few emails coordinating dates of guest speakers between the guest and classroom teacher.  If you are interested in helping out please get in touch with Mary MacGregor via email.

October is Dyslexia Awareness Month!

Dyslexia impacts people across all languages, races, socio-economic statuses, and genders. Dyslexia is one of the most common language-based learning disabilities and this month we hope to highlight and encourage discussion about this learning difference. If you have any questions, please reach out to Pamela Schmidt at burbankPTAdei@gmail.com

Thank You to D. Muzzioli Associates!

A huge thanks to D. Muzzioli Associates for helping us with (very) short notice to spread the playground mulch last week and getting our playground back open!  They will be back this week to spread a second delivery of mulch from the town, so be sure to say thank you as their support helps to minimize the down time of the playground and keep our playground safe!

PTA Extracurricular Classes

Registration is now closed and classes began this week and run for 8 weeks. Stay tuned for our next session coming in Winter 2024!

Watch the 9/28 Select Board Meeting

Last week the Select Board held a public budget forum to provide an overview of the Town’s budgeting process and the fiscal challenges we are facing simply to maintain current town (including school) operations. You can watch a recording of the meeting here if you missed it due to Curriculum Night.

Volunteer During Your Child's Library Time!

Sign up to volunteer to help out in the library when your child's class visits each week!  Your child spends between 15-30 minutes in the library each week and you can be there to help their class check books out, shelving returned books or even reading a book to the class (K and 1st grade classes).  The extra set of hands is greatly appreciated by our Library Aide, Ms. Watson and allows you to be a part of showing your child the wonderful world of children’s literature!  Please use the following link to sign up for an upcoming slot for your child's classroom using the tabs along the top to navigate to your child's grade:  Library Volunteers Sign-Ups

If you are new to the library you will need to first fill out a CORI form with Mrs. Sacca. Please take 5 minutes to review the Library Training Slides before your slot which introduces you to the responsibilities of the volunteer that would be great.  If you don't have a chance to review the slides, no worries. Just arrive 5 minutes early and Ms. Watson or another volunteer can walk you through the routine.

Ways to Stay Connected with the Burbank PTA

  • Burbank Website has a PTA Section where all current and past newsletters are saved; PTA Newsletters are sent out every Monday.
