1. Name of Instrument: xylophone

2. Instrument Family: I need to learn that - I think percussion.Doug WeinstockDoug Weinstock

3. At what age did you start studying music?

    43 or 44

4. Why did you choose this instrument?

I chose this instrument because Ms. Tassone was kind enough several years ago to give me a xylophone to use when I made announcements to the whole school.

5. Why do you enjoy playing this instrument?

I enjoy it because I can make up so many different little tunes.

6. What do you find challenging about playing this instrument?

I always play it as improvisation. Sometimes it sounds really bad.

7. What are your favorite musical pieces to play? Why?

I have never played a whole piece. Perhaps I'd be able to learn "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star".

8. Additional Comments:

Thanks for inviting me to play this instrument. When I was a child, I took piano lessons for several years. I also took clarinet lessons for one year at school. I think that was in 4th grade.
