This Week Updates - May 22, 2022

Good Evening Wellington Families,

We hope you had a great weekend and were able to stay cool in this intense heat!  It is such a busy and exciting time at school. We are writing to share some information with you.

  • This Wednesday is an early release day.  Dismissal is at 11:40 AM and no lunch will be served.
  • As you may know, this Friday (May 27th) is our Rainbow Color Spirit Day.  Each grade level is invited to wear a specific color.  They are:
    • K - purple

    • 1 - green

    • 2 - orange

    • 3 - red

    • 4 - blue

If your child doesn't have clothing in that color, please don't worry; children can make a badge or a shirt decoration out of paper. We don't want anyone who wants to participate to miss out on the fun.

  • Here is an important message from our public health nurses:The Belmont Farmer’s Market (BFM) is having a Food Assistance Information Fair June 2, 2022. Representatives from local and state agencies will be available at the market between 2pm and 6:30 pm to talk to people facing food insecurities about ways to boost their food budgets. The fair will help people learn about their eligibility for food programs.  The BFM doubles SNAP benefits up to 25$ weekly for shoppers who present SNAP cards.  The market is located in the Belmont Center parking lot behind Leonard street.

  • Here is a message from our preschool: Did you know that Belmont has an Integrated Preschool Program located at the Wellington School? They enroll children 3-5 years old, and are currently accepting students for September! To apply now, CLICK HERE.

  • Finally, our students have shared a huge number of ideas for our new school mascot.  We are incredibly impressed with their creativity and artistic ability. The last day for submissions is tomorrow.  Please encourage your children to bring in their pictures and ideas by tomorrow if they are interested and haven't finished them yet.

Thanks for reading all of this information as well as the grade-specific updates you have received from your children's teachers. Please don't hesitate to be in touch with any questions or concerns. We are looking forward to a great week.

All the best,

Heidi and Molly
