Updates and Thanks

Dear Wellington Families,

Friday was an amazing day.  It was a true joy to see our students exercising, smiling, and having fun. The Fun Run was a huge success; thank you to the PTO for planning it and to Becca Pizzi, the parent/guardian volunteers, and our PE staff for running it.  The kids had a great time and we raised a lot of money for our school.

We are also grateful to our PTO for purchasing the book, Amy Wu and the Patchwork Dragon for each of our classrooms so that we could all read and discuss the book together last week.  The book was purchased as part of Jumpstart’s Read for the Record Program. Jumpstart is an organization that supports early childhood programs in historically underserved areas.

Spirit Day

Thanks to everyone’s positivity and efforts we reached our goal of 80% registration in the Fun Run.  As a result, we will have a school-wide pajama day on November 12th.  I am currently shopping for a fun set of footie pajamas for the occasion.

Affinity Groups

We are excited to announce that affinity groups are going to start for interested students who identify as Black or Brown.  Thank you to all of you who expressed interest in these groups.  If you would like to officially sign-up your child for affinity groups please fill out this permission slip by Friday. Please fill out the form even if you already expressed interest as we need your permission for your child(ren) to participate in the groups during the school day.

Pool Testing- A Note from our Nurse

We had a second successful week of pool testing.  The testing is becoming faster and more efficient and we were able to test more students. Parents who have not yet signed up and wish to have their student participate in COVID testing in school should use this link to sign up, and specify ‘Belmont Public’. https://www.cic-health.com/consent/ma.  Please keep in mind there is a processing time after you register.

Absences

If your child is absent, please remember to call the attendance line 617 993 5602 even if you have already let your teacher or the nurse know.  Please walk all students who are late to the door so that we can check them into the building.

Preschool
