Chenery Middle School Update for February 27, 2022

February 27, 2022

Dear CMS Community,

I hope every member of our school community had a terrific break and an opportunity to rest, play, and connect. We come back to school ready to get back to learning!

As we return, I want to remind families that the mask mandate in Belmont has not been lifted as of yet. All school community members will be expected to continue wearing masks until such a point that the town Board of Health, BPS School Committee and BEA have discussed it and made recommendations around the mask requirement. I realize this issue is one that concerns our families for a variety of reasons. I ask that you support our need to continue masking until we have definitive direction coming in early March. For a reminder of the current timeline for BPS mask policy changes, see Superintendent Phelan’s email.

As you can see below, we have a lot happening at CMS. As always, please reach out to me if you have any questions.

Respectfully,

Karla B. Koza, Principal

REOCCURING NEWS & RESOURCES

CHENERY COOKS! - A MULTICULTURAL COLLECTION OF RECIPES FROM THE CHENERY COMMUNITY

We invite all students and their families to join us as we celebrate diversity and culture in the new digital version of a cookbook started years ago at CMS. In the first edition, thirty-six countries were represented, and each recipe was submitted by a Chenery family or staff member and was representative of their cultural heritage. We will be replicating this approach in the second edition. Please click HERE for more information and directions on how to share YOUR loved recipes as we celebrate the many cultures represented at our school. Please direct all questions to chenerycooks@belmontschools.net managed by our wonderful librarian, Karen Duff.
