Dear Students:

At Chenery Middle School we share a set of beliefs and values that inform and guide our words and actions. Throughout the year we discuss and explore these values and how they live in our school. These core values are represented by our school's motto:

Respectful, Responsible, and Ready to Learn: Everybody. Every Day

By making these values central to our time together, we will be successful in ensuring the academic, social, and emotional growth of all students.

I am pleased to provide you with the School Year Agenda Book. This Assignment Notebook combined with your Student Handbook is presented to you by the Chenery PTO and School Advisory Council. These parents, teachers, volunteers, and community members work together with all of the faculty and staff at CMS to ensure that you have the best possible learning experience in your middle school years. This Agenda Book is one supporting tool in helping us achieve our goals.

The Student Handbook is intended to be a living document. Therefore, we continuously review the book considering revisions and updates. This year, the CMS School Council considered several updates to the Handbook: several policies were updated; additional information related to our team structures and programs was added, additional faculty contact information and much more. Please review the handbook carefully. This year the School Council will continue to consider revisions and updates and welcomes your input and suggestions.

Each school year promises new and exciting learning experiences. I look forward to working with each student and his or her family. It is my expectation that we all work together for the common goal of ensuring that every student achieves and grows at high levels academically, socially, and emotionally.
