FROM THE PRESIDENTS
We hope everyone had a wonderful break last week. It was great to be with family and friends with nothing (or less) to do for a few days. Taking a moment to sit and focus on what we are thankful for is something we don’t do often enough. Jess and I are so grateful for this community, the relationships we have here, and the support we receive from you. We always welcome your feedback, questions and concerns. You can reach us at firstname.lastname@example.org.

DIVERSITY, EQUITY AND INCLUSION NEWS
The Chenery PTO has formed a DEI Committee, which is hosting its first official meeting of the school year next Wednesday, December 8, from 7-8 PM via zoom. Here is the link:
Meeting ID: 872 8179 4968
If you are interested in discussing diversity, equity, and inclusion or helping us develop action items we can take at Chenery in support of the committee's mission, please consider joining us at this meeting. While we will discuss our goals further and welcome additional committee members, there will be no pressure to officially join the committee and meetings will be open to all - we want to hear from as many families as possible!
Support and promote the full inclusion and sense of belonging for all families and children in the Chenery Middle School community regardless of anyone's identity or background.
Serve as a liaison to the Chenery Middle School administration, Belmont's School Committee, and Belmont's Diversity Task Force to: 1. advocate for the Belmont Public Schools to extend its diversity, equity, and inclusion work and to make a long-term commitment and investment in this work and 2. give voice to the experiences of all Chenery Middle School families and children regarding matters involving diversity, equity, and inclusion issues.
Thanks to your generosity, we are about 2/3 of the way to our goal of $35,000. Please remember that this is the only fundraising we do for the year. Will you help us meet our goal? No amount is too big or too small.
You can donate here: https://my.cheddarup.com/c/chenery-pto-annualappeal-2021-2022
Your donation will benefit Chenery students, teachers, and staff and directly impacts our community. Thank you for your support!
