What Wonderful Weather!

We have enjoyed an incredible stretch of weather this week and the sun and warmth have brought smiles and lifted spirits to Burbank. Our time together is precious and joyful and this week the world seemed to share those feelings.  I hope everyone enjoys the gift of magnificent weather this weekend.

In Other Exciting News:

Burbank is a National Blue Ribbon School for 2020!

We have been recognized as a national example for our high level of academic achievement for all students.  This prestigious award was earned by our entire community.  Our dedicated faculty and their unceasing efforts on behalf of students, our engaged and supportive families, and our shared commitment to social, emotional, and academic growth all contribute to Burbank's success.

I know you will join me in celebrating this recognition, giving thanks to our amazing faculty, and cherishing this wonderful community.

The Belmont School Committee will recognize Burbank's achievement at this Tuesday's meeting. I hope to see you there!

Nurses Notes: Important Health Information

Covid-19 information:

Our collective health relies, in part, on individual attention and responsibility. Note that some symptoms of COVID-19 are the same as the flu or a bad cold.
Please do not assume it is another condition. When in doubt, keep your child home.

Please go to the Belmont Public School’s Website and look at the Student Symptom Checker every day.
If you answer ‘yes’ to any of the questions, fill out the online Burbank Absence Form and keep your child home.

Influenza Vaccine:

This year in Massachusetts, an updated (2020) influenza vaccine is required for all students by December 31st, 2020.

4th Grade Physicals:

If you have a 4th grader, an updated physical exam (one done within the past 12 months) is due in the clinic now.

Travel/No travel Reminder for Holidays:

Please refer to the Mass.gov website before making your travel plans. Most states are now considered high risk and your child’s return to school may be impacted by your plans.
For those not traveling, please think about the number of people in your gatherings. Here is the link to help with your planning: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/daily-life-coping/holidays.html

Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns.
