Summer Family Newsletter

Dear Burbank Families,

I hope that everyone had a wonderful last day of school! We faced a long and uncertain road to arrive here, and I am satisfied that we made it to year’s end as a strong community.  As I participated in the farewell activities for the 4th grade over the course of the week, my spirits were lifted by the smiles, laughter, and cheers that abounded.  It was not the goodbye we would have planned had circumstances been different, but it was inspirational and joyous!  I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the PTA organizers, Grade 4 team, Nicole Pond (for her work to ensure this year’s 4th grade tile project’s success!), and every single teacher and staff member who attended the Clap Outs and Rolling Rally.  Our 4th graders were sent off with Burbank’s signature love and community.

As we transition into summer, I hope that everyone is able to take a much deserved rest.  Summer may not be the same as it has in the past, but I hope the warm weather and extra hours of daylight bring the happiness of the season to you.  The change in routine and distance from our friends and families, however, may cause distress. With this in mind Belmont’s Elementary School Mental Health team has created a resource for families during the summer months. Please see their Summer Newsletter for ideas, activities, and further information that you may find helpful.

I am delighted to announce that the district has committed to extending the licenses of Dreambox and Lexia through the next school year.  This means that student will be able to continue using these high quality resources throughout the summer.

And finally, if you haven’t seen it already, please enjoy the Burbank Faculty’s Goodbye Video!

Have a wonderful summer!
