I am so grateful that we have all of our students back in school this year, and that the high school experience is much more normal for students. My goal is to keep students in school, and to keep the school experience a good one, with as few restrictions to learning and socializing as possible. In order to achieve this goal, we rely on our mitigation strategies: masking, vaccinations, ventilation, hand washing, and social distancing where possible. Our vaccination rates are over 80 percent, and I would love to increase this number.

Belmont School Committee approved revisions to our handbook regarding our attendance procedures this week. We believe that daily attendance at school is the first step for a student’s success at BHS, both academically and socially.

Information for Thursday and Friday

A reminder that tomorrow (Thursday Sept 9) is a half day (8:00 am-10:30 am). The schedule for Thursday and Friday looks a little different from the normal schedule. You can view the schedule here. Students will start the day tomorrow in homeroom. Your homeroom assignment is available on Plus Portals. We will also have paper copies in the cafeteria in the morning.

Dear BHS Families,

As a point of clarification, students' first period class begins at 8:00 am, and school is dismissed at 2:25 pm.

Students arriving early may enter the building at 6:50 am and can wait in the cafeteria until their classes begin.

With our state of the art new high school building nearing completion, Our new high school is truly unbelievable- I am excited for BHS students to see the spaces!I would like to thank everyone involved in the final push towards opening our doors in less than three weeks time.

Next Wednesday June 16 is the last day of school, and also the last day that students will be able to access the current facility. Please make sure that all personal items are removed before Wednesday. We will be sending information out about the new building (e.g. parking, drop-off, access) in August.

To the Classes of 2022, 2023, and 2024: This update will be helpful for all students and families and especially for our remote-only students and families. As you may know, the state did not provide high schools with the option to test students remotely. If students (grades 9-11) would like to participate in the spring 2021 test sessions, they must come into the building. Luckily, there are additional opportunities for each grade to test next year.
