Now that we are in the season of snow falling/ice buildup- the safest walkway for students is under the overhang. We want to encourage students to not walk where snow and ice can fall from the rooftop. It is also very important that no one walks on the frozen pond, or any frozen water body in town. Although in some spots it may look strong enough it is not.

From the Principal's Desk - Week of January 23, 2023

Next week is midterm week: Dates: January 24th - January 26th. Times: 8am-9:30am (+ extra time); 12-1:30pm (+extra time) You can see the schedule here. Teachers will have communicated exam room numbers to students, and these will be posted in the main lobby as well. Students only need to report for their scheduled exams. Breakfast and lunch will be available in the cafeteria prior to Session 1 and between Session 1 and Session 2 for lunch.

We are now at the end of our two week trial of more closely monitoring the bathrooms, which has included closing the B wing group bathrooms, stationing a staff person outside each A wing bathroom, and asking students to sign in and out of the bathrooms. The purpose of this trial was to assess the rise of vaping in school bathrooms. I would like to say a big thank you to students for adjusting to the requirement to sign in and out of bathrooms, which I recognize as an inconvenience.

Congratulations to all BHS Student Athletes! After a successful regular season, Belmont High School Fall Athletics is excited to head into the opening weekend of the MIAA State Tournaments. Tonight (Friday 11/4) we will be hosting a doubleheader at Harris Field (Field Hockey@4:30pm and Girls Soccer @7:00pm). Saturday, BHS hosts a Varsity Football @3:00pm. Sunday, Girls Swim competes @WPI in the state sectionals, while Varsity Cheer will compete in the ML12 Cheer Competition at Watertown High School. Finally, Boys Varsity Soccer will travel to Franklin Monday 11/7 at 6pm. LET’S GO MARAUDERS!

I would like to remind everyone who uses a bike to make sure and lock it up, whether at school or around town. The Belmont police have received a number of reports of missing bicycles in recent weeks, and almost all of them were left unlocked.
