A big thank you to all of our students and staff for respecting choices this week as we moved to a mask-optional policy at school. For some this has been a welcome change, and for others the shift has caused anxiety, but it has been a transition for everyone, as we see more of one another’s faces. Dear BHS Students and Families,

I wrote to students earlier this week to let them know that it is likely that the mask mandate will be replaced with a mask optional policy next week, possibly as early as Tuesday. Happy snow day, BHS. I hope that you are able to make the most of the day, hopefully by slowing down and taking time for some self-care. This week I have been really grateful to the staff for pivoting once again with this new health situation, and extremely proud of our BHS students who have been mature and responsible throughout the week. I believe that everyone is taking the health situation seriously, and doing a great job adjusting to where we are right now. I know that there are different views on what we should be doing right now, but what I have seen in school this week is everyone finding common ground in being respectful of each other and kind to one another.

I would like to extend my warmest wishes for good vibes and a joyful, peaceful holiday break. I am really proud of everyone this year for doing so well in our first long stretch of normal school since the start of the pandemic. I am so impressed with how everyone has adjusted to being back at school, continuing to wear masks, and figuring out a new building. I know this Fall was not perfect, but it has been a really good start. It is a short break this year, so please do whatever you can to step away and rest. We will be back on Monday January 3, 2022.
