The end of the 2019-20 school year will quickly be upon us. As we look to wrap up the school year, we need to collect iPad’s, textbooks, athletic uniforms, and other school materials from students in order to prepare for next year. iPad’s (with chargers) in particular need to be returned to BHS, as they are being repurposed for elementary students and we are excited that our BHS students will be upgraded to Chromebooks this summer (more details to follow). In addition, students will have an opportunity to retrieve any needed items from BHS. Winter athletes will also be given their awards and varsity jackets when they check in.
This process will take place the week of June 15-17. Teachers will not be assigning any new work during this time, which would require a student to need any of the above mentioned items. Students are assigned the following time slots to return their items and access the building:
We will be requiring students to:
Wear a mask
Wear gloves (we will have a limited supply of non-latex gloves available, if needed)
Bring a bag to carry their items
Clearly label textbooks with student name (post-it or bookmark)
In order to ensure everyone’s safety, we will be taking the following precautions:
Students will enter the building through the cafeteria doors. Upon entering the cafeteria, there will be tape marks on the floor indicating a social distance of at least 6ft. Please use these marks to space yourselves as you wait to check in.
As you check in, there will be a station with hand sanitizer and gloves, if needed. Again, please try and bring your own gloves.
We ask that students only go to their lockers if there are items they will need before school starts in September. This summer, custodians will open all lockers and take out any books, but all personal items will remain and be there in September.
Only 10 students will be allowed in the building at one time. Travel will be one-way clockwise around the building. While traveling through the building, please maintain proper social distance. Volunteers will be in the hallways to ensure adherence to this guideline. Students will exit through the main entrance hallway to the parking lot.
We ask that students not gather in the parking lot. Staff will monitor the parking lot to ensure students avoid forming groups.
Students will drop off iPad’s, textbooks, and any other school materials at stations as they move through the cafeteria. Once this is completed, students will check-in with a staff member. If they do not need to retrieve any items from their lockers, they will exit through the main hallway to the parking lot. If they do need items from the building, they will be allowed to enter. As students walk through the building, they will be able to access the PE locker rooms and their personal lockers. Students will exit through the main hallway to the parking lot. If you need an item from another room or space in the building, please let the staff member know when you check in.
