School Offices Summer Hours:

Elementary schools offices are open by call or email Monday through Thursday from 9:00am to 3:00pm and on Friday from 9:00am - 1:00pm. Currently, our school offices available to answer questions by phone or email only.

High school office is open in person or by email Monday through Thursday from 7:30am to 2:30pm and on Friday from 7:30am until 1:00pm. Occasionally, principal and secretaries may be out on a given day, therefore, we recommend that you always call the office in advance to be sure that someone is available in person.

I write to share some important leadership news for the Chenery Middle School during this upcoming school year. As you know from our previous correspondence, Ms. Koza will be moving to a new role as "Director of District Configuration Transition" for the 2022-2023 school year. In that capacity, she will focus on leading the evolution of a 9-12 BHS building to a 7-12 BMHS building by September, 2023. It is with great enthusiasm that I announce that Nicolette A. Foundas has been named her successor as the “Interim 5-8 Chenery Middle School Principal” for the 2022-2023 school year. She will assume this role effective 8/8/2022.

REGISTRATION IS OPEN for the FBE Apple Run 2022!
Now in its tenth year (six years as the Dan Scharfman Memorial Run), the FBE Apple Run has brought thousands of runners to the streets of Belmont, Massachusetts to support public education and innovation in the Belmont Public Schools. Since our inaugural event in 2013, the Apple Run has raised more than $200,000 for the Foundation for Belmont Education! I write to share some important leadership news regarding the newly created "Director of District Configuration Transition" position. The purpose of this 1-year position was to dedicate a single "point person" to focus all of their time and attention on leading the evolution of a 9-12 BHS building to a 7-12 BMHS building by September, 2023. 7th annual Becca Pizzi Foundation 5k Sunday, August 28th, registration is LIVE!
Welcome to YEAR SEVEN! The Becca Pizzi 5k and kids 1 mile run. Sunday, August 28th. Dri-fit t-shirts, Dr Teals Epsom salt, TB12 goodies, Ultima Replenisher Electrolyte packs, Cambridge Trust water bottles are some of the fun swag that we will be provided to all registered runners! All race proceeds benefit the Becca Pizzi Foundation for the purpose of awarding Belmont High School student/athlete scholarships. The Becca Pizzi Foundation has awarded over 50k in scholarships and sports equipment for Belmont High School.

Summer Reading Lists 2022
The Summer Reading Lists are a joint project of the Belmont Public Schools and the Belmont Public Library. They are designed to encourage students in Belmont to make reading a habit, raising both their interest in and level of reading. These books and works from authors are available to view in print and as e-books and e-audiobooks that can be borrowed free of charge from the Belmont Public Library’s collections in Libby and in Hoopla.

Every public school district, charter school, vocational school, and virtual school in Massachusetts is reviewed regularly by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education’s Office of Public School Monitoring. As explained on their website, their vision is “Equitable outcomes for all students,” and their mission states that they “serve students by conducting data analyses and reviews of special education and civil rights policies, procedures, and practices in order to support district efforts to build equitable and inclusive educational systems that meet the diverse needs of all students.”
