Parenting in the Time of Coronavirus – Pre-Recorded Webinars
As part of a partnership with Belmont Public Schools, the McLean Hospital School Consultation team has recorded two webinars that focus on helping parents navigate challenging COVID-19 circumstances. One video is geared toward parents of elementary school-aged children and the other video is geared toward parents of middle and high school-aged teens. The videos have some overlapping content, although the examples provided are age-specific. Please see below for a more detailed description. Each video is followed by a pre-recorded Q and A that includes answers to the questions Belmont parents submitted. We hope that you find them helpful!

We hope you were able to enjoy Mother's Day weekend even with the snowy start to it on Saturday. We know it is not easy being a parent in the best of times but it is especially challenging these days during the pandemic. We appreciate our entire Belmont community for their generosity of spirit and help in supporting our students.

FBE Update & Thank You!
The FBE sends a hearty THANK YOU to each and every teacher, administrator, and school staff member for helping Belmont’s students during this unsettling time. We greatly appreciate the amount of planning, teaching, and communicating that is happening during Phase II of the District’s distance learning plan. The FBE would also like to send our very BEST WISHES to the BHS class of 2020.

We know our 2020 Belmont High School graduates feel the restraints of physical distancing the most deeply, having to spend the remainder of their last year away from all their classmates. First and foremost, we are sorry this is our current situation and feel horrible for our seniors – they are missing out on many true traditions and rites of passage, and it is sad. We are trying to balance safety and celebration. As an administration we will pause this process to review and re-examine ideas that have been emailed to us from our parents and students. Our goal is to provide a safe and celebratory experience for our seniors under our current circumstances.

Teacher Appreciation Week is this week and Teacher Appreciation Day is today. The appreciation is never more deeply felt than this year during this pandemic as we engage in remote learning. We miss seeing our teachers every day, and want them to know how much we value them.

It is also National Nurses Day on Wednesday. We are grateful to our school nurses for all the work they do.

FBE Casino Royale Candy Giveaway!
FBE Casino Royale Candy Giveaway!
Starting April 30th, the Foundation for Belmont Education will kick off a fun candy campaign via our FBE social media posts. Due to the canceled Casino Royale Annual Spring Fundraiser, we found ourselves left with large amounts of candy. Some of the candy was donated to the wonderful healthcare workers at Mt. Auburn Hospital, but we also have enough to share with our local community! Every Thursday, we will be post a jar of candy on Instagram and Facebook, and invite our followers to guess the numbers of pieces in the jar.
