Immunizations

“Evidence shows that healthy students have better attendance and perform better academically”. The health requirements apply to all children enrolled in a Belmont Public School. Parents/guardians must provide proof of required immunizations and health exams or be subject to exclusion from school.

  • All students entering grade 7 must have received a Tdap booster. Students who are not in compliance will be excluded from school until documentation is submitted with proof of the vaccine. NO STUDENT WILL BE ALLOWED TO ENTER GRADE 7 WITHOUT DOCUMENTATION OF THIS IMMUNIZATION.
  • All students entering grade 11 must have received the meningococcal vaccine (MenACWY) booster. Students who are not in compliance will be excluded from school until documentation is submitted with proof of the vaccine. NO STUDENT WILL BE ALLOWED TO ENTER GRADE 11 WITHOUT DOCUMENTATION OF THIS IMMUNIZATION.
  • NEW Influenza Requirement School Year 2020-21 The influenza immunization will be required for all children 6 months of age or older who are attending Massachusetts child care, pre-school, kindergarten, K-12, and colleges and universities. The new vaccine requirement is an important step to reduce flu-related illness and the overall impact of respiratory illness during the COVID-19 pandemic. Students will be expected to have received a flu vaccine by December 31, 2020 for the 2020-2021 influenza season, unless either a medical or religious exemption is provided.
