REVISED BPS Travel Guidelines

REVISED BPS Travel Guidelines

Belmont Public Schools Revised TRAVEL GUIDELINES

As of March 22, 2021, the Massachusetts Travel Order was downgraded to an Advisory. Belmont will continue to follow BPS Travel guidelines including testing or quarantine following out-of-state travel.

RETURN TO SCHOOL CRITERIA FOLLOWING TRAVEL OUT OF MASSACHUSETTS FOR A PERIOD OF 24 HOURS OR GREATER:

  • Proof of student/staff negative PCR test (Test must be done after leaving Massachusetts. Testing may be done up to 72 hours prior to your arrival back in Massachusetts or after your return.) You must quarantine until you receive your test result.
  • PCR tests are required, no antigen tests will be accepted.
  • Forward test results to your school nurse; students and staff members may not return to school until they have been cleared by a nurse.

Please note this change as of 4/15/21:

Belmont has removed the age exemption for students 10 years of age and under.

Belmont requires PCR testing for ALL students who have traveled, regardless of age.

  • All students must provide a negative PCR test or quarantine for 10 days from the date of return to Massachusetts.

PLEASE NOTE:

  • Individuals who have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 90 days and successfully completed isolation, do NOT need to test or NOT need to quarantine.
  • Individuals who are fully vaccinated (2 weeks after the last dose of vaccine series) do NOT need to test or quarantine.
  • Individuals who are vaccinated and have symptoms of COVID-19 must continue to follow testing and quarantine requirements.
  • No vaccine is 100% effective, protective measures should still be taken seriously even after you are fully vaccinated.
