All students are to read over the summer in preparation for the start of the new school year. Teachers selected these books to interest students and to enrich their literary background. The Belmont Public Library will receive copies of this list. If at all possible, students should purchase copies of their summer reading books so that they can mark them up and use them at the start of school.
Students K - 5
The summer reading lists for elementary school students are a joint project of the Belmont Public Schools and the Belmont Public Library. They are designed to encourage students in Belmont to make reading a habit, raising both their interest in and level of reading. The following is a list of suggested books for your child's reading pleasure. For more recommendations, visit the Belmont Public Library Children's Room and talk with a librarian. Also be sure to sign up for the Library's Summer Reading Program. The theme this year is A Universe of Stories!
Please, enjoy these books with your child:
