THANK YOU BELMONT FOR A HUGELY SUCCESSFUL INAUGURAL AAPI 5K RUN 'N' WALK!
To everyone who participated in or contributed to the 2022 AAPI 5K Run ‘n’ Walk, the Belmont Chinese American Association (BCAA) is extremely grateful. This inaugural event attracted close to 350 participants, 250+ pre-registered and 80+ day-of registrations. This was truly a community-wide event: people with an amazing diversity in age, gender, race, ethnicity, nationality, etc., came together to show their support to the AAPI community in Belmont and the Belmont Celebrates AAPI Heritage Fund.

We would like to thank these state and town officials who spent a beautiful morning with us: Massachusetts State Senator Mr. Will Brownsberger; Chair of the Select Board Mr. Mark Paolillo; Superintendent of the Belmont Public Schools Dr. John Phelan. Special thanks to the new acting CEO of the Boston Athletic Association Mr. Jack Fleming for running the 5K with us.
We thank the following individuals for offering their help and support: Triogo owner Donna Ognibene; current and former FBE Apple Run race directors Scot DeDeo, Doug Hall, and Paul Roberts; the Becca Pizzi 5K organizer Becca Pizzi.
A huge shout out to our sponsors:
Event sponsors - Dreamage Intl. Realty, Belmont Orthodontics/Belmont Pediatric Dentistry
Bib sponsor - Alina Wang/Coldwell Banker Realty
Water table sponsor - Russian School of Mathematics
T- shirt sponsors - AoPS Academy Lexington, EA Education Consulting & Services LLC, JW Insurance & Financial Services, Leader Bank, and Power Plus Gas, Tire & Auto Service.
We would also like to thank Belmont Public Schools, Belmont Police Department, Belmont Department of Public Works, Belmont Recreation Department, Office of the Select Board, Belmont Youth Lacrosse, for their tremendous support.
This event, of course, would not have been possible without the support of our wonderful volunteers and our volunteer-run organizing committee. Thank you!
Congratulations to our race day winners!

The BCAA has every intention of making the AAPI 5K an annual event in May. Your feedback and suggestions are important and will help us do better next year. Please send them our way at run@bcaa-ma.org.
In addition to the successful AAPI 5K Run ‘n’ Walk organized by the BCAA, there are other wonderful activities and programs organized or sponsored by a variety of organizations, groups, and individual volunteers in Belmont for celebrating the AAPI Heritage Month throughout May. Please visit https://www.BelmontCelebratesAAPIHeritage.org for more information.
Congratulations again, and Happy AAPI Heritage Month!
Best regards,
