Week of December 7 Important News - School Opening Fall 2020 Superintendent's Bulletin #20
Dear Parents, Guardians, and Staff:
This communication is to inform you we are returning to our hybrid in-person learning schedules for grades K-8 on Monday, December 7.
In addition, we are happy to report BHS grades 9-12 will start in-person hybrid on Thursday, December 10.
Each building principal will send out a communication today with more details.
We appreciate the patience of our students, parents, faculty, and staff in pivoting to remote learning after the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. We feel these proactive measures help keep the school community safe and gives us a chance to assess and “reset” the buildings for a healthy return to hybrid in-person learning.
Our goal is to proactively and strategically pivot our instructional model when needed during the current pandemic environment with the objective of avoiding reactive disruption to teaching and learning. As we said in our November 25 letter to families, we hope that being proactive and strategic in the short-term will avoid difficulty in the long-term.
Thank you to our Town health department and the BPS nursing staff for the continued collaboration and guidance for public safety. Please see BPS Health and Safety Bulletin #4 regarding Travel, Testing and Absence sent on December 1.
Respectfully,
John P. Phelan
Superintendent of Schools
Town of Belmont
