Student Device Distribution Update

Dear Belmont Families -

We are writing to provide you with additional information about the distribution of devices to all Belmont students. As outlined in the presentation of preliminary draft plans for 2020-2021 (see slide 12), we need to provide synchronous, scheduled, live instruction and to do that we need to ensure that every student has their own device.

Even though the plans for 2020-21 are not yet finalized; we are distributing the devices in order to be prepared for any contingency. Devices issued by the district are the same models as those used in the classrooms, are secured and filtered, and will be fully supported by the Belmont Public Schools Technology department.

Device distribution begins on July 20 and runs through August 27. Additional information can be found on the BPS website. Families who have not as yet signed up to receive a district-issued device can do so by following the instructions detailed in the email sent to you on July 14 from Belmont_Schools.sent_via@rediker.com. You should have received an email for each of your children.

If you have a functional device at home for each of your children, then you do not need to receive a device from the district. Please note that the Belmont Public Schools cannot provide hardware support to family-owned devices.

If you have any questions, please email: communitysupport@belmont.k12.ma.us
