Finalist Interviews for Superintendent

Finalist Interviews for Superintendent

Last evening, December 9th, the Belmont School Committee met to deliberate and discuss the three candidates for Belmont Superintendent. We chose, unanimously, to move forward Anne McKenzie, currently Executive Director of the Lower Pioneer Valley Education Collaborative and John Phelan who currently serves as Assistant Superintendent of Milton Public Schools.
The School Committee will be conducting final interviews tomorrow evening, Wednesday December 11th,  in the Chenery Middle School Large Community Room. Anne Mckenzie will be interviewed at 6:00 p.m. followed by John Phelan at 7:45.

At our meeting of December 17th, the School Committee will deliberate and vote to extend an offer to one candidate with an anticipated start date of July 1st,  2014. These are all open meetings and will be shown live as well as taped for future viewing.

I want to reiterate how very grateful we are for the thoughtful questions asked of each candidate during the site visits last week as well as the time taken to attend meetings and provide thoughts and concerns to school committee members.

Best regards –
Laurie Graham
Chair, Belmont School Committee
