President’s Volunteer Service Awards to Belmont High School and Chenery Middle School Students

Hundreds of hours of community service were accumulated by middle and high school students. Those students who did record amounts of volunteering were given the President’s Volunteer Service Award, a national campaign to promote and recognize service among people of all ages.

There are 24 Belmont High School seniors and 109 underclassmen who received this award. The seniors were recognized at a School Committee meeting held on May 23, and the underclassmen were recognized at the May 25 Underclassmen Awards ceremony. In addition to these high school students, there are 43 Chenery students in grades 6, 7, and 8 who also received volunteer awards.
