Day 1 - Message from the Superintendent of Schools

Dear Parents, Guardians, Students, and Staff:

I am writing as a precautionary measure to make sure that we all get safely to and from school tomorrow and beyond.

I would ask that all students (and families) that ride our yellow buses, please be patient.  The first few days always come with some delay as parents are saying goodbye at the bus stop for a little longer than normal on day  one and our drivers are navigating new routes. Some of our bus routes will be impacted by the road construction in town. Middle and high school riders should read the email from our Transportation Department, indicating that Bus Passes are not needed during the first week or so while we distribute them to the students.

All parents who are driving their children to school and our high school students driving to school, please be patient when dropping off and picking up. The routine at each school will be established by the building principal with safety in mind.  During the first few days we will be working out the kinks.  I would ask all of our drivers to be mindful of our students who are walking or biking to school.  The sidewalks, streets,  and parking lots will be congested and we want to make sure all can share the road safely.

Students, and parents who walk and/or bike to school please be careful and mindful of the rules of the road.  It will be a bit congested on the roads and parking areas – please be safe.

Tomorrow will be a hot day – we suggest that all students come to school with water and stay hydrated.

We look forward to a great start of school – thank you for your time and attention to our communications.

Have a great day.
