BHS Orchestra and Chorus Concert

The Department of Fine & Performing Arts will present its Spring Chorus and Orchestra Concert on March 4th at 7:00 PM in the BHS auditorium.

This concert will feature the first of our Annual Solo Competition Winners:  Haig Hovsepian, sophomore, will be performing the 3rd movement from the Aram Khachaturian Violin Concerto.

The Men's Chorus, Women's Chorus and Chamber Singers will present music from the Renaissance period, as well as works by contemporary composers.  Selections will include Madrigals, Spirituals, and folk songs settings by European and American composers.

The BHS Concert Orchestra, fresh off their successful tour of Spain, will present a Spanish-influenced program, including Rossini's Overture to "Barber of Seville",  Wood's Bolero (named after rock-violinist Mark Wood) and the beautiful Country Song by Gustav Holst.

The concert will culminate with the Combined Choruses and Orchestra performing several movements of Vivaldi's Gloria in D.

Admission to BHS concerts, as always, is free. Please come out to hear some wonderful live music, to support our students and to show your support for music education in our schools. If you are unable to join us on March 4, we hope you will mark your calendars for the BHS Spring Band Concert on April 1.
