When: Wednesday April 12th, 2023   6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. Where: Belmont High School- Cafeteria Aspire, a MassGeneral Hospital Program, specializes in helping children, teens and adults on the autism spectrum achieve success. Our programming is uniquely designed to help participants develop positive self-awareness, stress management and social competency skills so they can succeed at home, school, work and in community settings. As an organization dedicated to serving autistic individuals, we recognize the importance of educating and empowering parents and caregivers. Through our Parent Programming, we offer customized presentations and facilitated workshops to parents, SEPAC groups, community-based groups, and parent-teacher organizations throughout New England. Cornelia Elwood, MA, Parent Support Specialist. Cornelia’s clinical interest is supporting individuals on the autism spectrum, their parents, and their families. Her professional experience includes parent coaching, career counseling, providing individual and family therapy, and facilitating and creating curricula for trainings, groups, and workshops. She co-wrote “Take Charge of Treatment for Your Child with Asperger’s (ASD)” with D. Scott McLeod, PhD. She is the parent of two boys, one of whom is a young adult on the autism spectrum. Cornelia received her BA from Vanderbilt University, completed a two-year life coach training, earned a Certificate in Autism Spectrum Disorders from Antioch University New England and a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from William James College.
