Inclement weather may force the closing of schools or delayed opening of up to 90 minutes.  Local radio and TV stations are the best source of No School notices.  In the case of a delayed opening, the bus schedule will be moved forward by the same amount of time as the delayed opening. Dismissal at the end of the day will remain the same as usual.

Parents should be aware that it might become necessary to close the school early on a given day for emergency reasons such as extreme weather conditions or unsafe conditions at the school.  In such an emergency, the school would contact the parents, or (if the parents are not available) the persons listed on the students’ emergency contacts card.

Wellington teachers and staff understand that parents may choose to keep their children home because of the weather even when the school is not officially closed.  Such absences made by parental discretion will nonetheless be recorded as absences for the child.
